The Importance of Vaccinations at Every Age

As parents, it’s natural to get our children vaccinated to help keep them safe from life-altering illnesses such as measles, chicken pox, mumps and whooping cough. It is only when many parents decide that skipping on vaccinations is a good idea that there is an outbreak. However, with age, there is less urgency to get vaccinated. Many patients who seek flu treatment online have not gotten the flu shot in the first place.

Don’t Skip Vaccines!

There are thousands of adults that end up sick and in the hospital every year because they refuse to get vaccinated for diseases that are easily preventable. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend a list of vaccinations for every adult, including:

  • Seasonal influenza vaccine
  • Tetanus, diptheria and pertussis
  • Human papilloma virus
  • Meningococcla meningitis
  • Meningococcal meningitis
  • Hepatitis A and B
  • Measles, mumps and rubella
  • Shingles
  • Pneumococcal vaccines

The above illnesses can all be very detrimental to your health, even resulting in lifelong complications or even death. Taking the time to get vaccinated is well-worth it in the long run, even if it’s simply for your peace of mind.

Mild Side Effects

Common side effects for vaccinations include pain or swelling at the injection site, mild fevers, fatigue, headaches, muscle or joint pain, and shivering. These are all typical and will subside within a day or two. Help protect both yourself and your loved ones and get the vaccines you need!
